This will be a six month placement supporting Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
Working directly to the Community Archaeologist the post holder will:

· Assist/support with meetings and site visits including taking notes etc.
· Be a point of first contact for email/telephone enquiries (where appropriate)
· Assist with our Heritage Guardians work with local schools.
· Support planning and delivery of the annual Archaeology Day.
· Help with development of webpage content for archaeology on the website.
· Assist with applications for Scheduled Monument Consent and Sites of Scientific Interest Consent (SSI).
· Assist with the scheduled monument monitoring activity undertaken by heritage volunteers including the administration of submitted forms.
· Support the Heritage Watch Scheme including monitoring and updating the Facebook page with content relating to the scheme.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications Grade C or above GCSE English
Good written and spoken communication skills
Meticulous with a keen attention for detail
Ability to write factual marketing content and use social media and Microsoft office (or similar)
Knowledge or interest in cultural / heritage sector or archaeology in particular.

Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns) 25 hours worked between Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 and 5pm. Exact working pattern to be agreed with individual. Flexibility will be afforded to the right person.

Hourly rate of pay National Minimum Wage

PCNPA will develop an individual bespoke employability programme that will sit alongside the placements. This will include:

• A Work Placement Contract setting out candidate skills and career targets and PCNPA expectations for successful completion – this will be supported through regular coaching sessions to ensure attainment;
• A Skills and Personality Profile Inventory to build confidence and self awareness;
• A career planning workshop, including the various pathways into employment;
• Advice on improving confidence and interpersonal skills in the job market;
• Help on improving employability skills;
• C.V writing and interview technique workshops;
• Specific skills training using a blended approach of class room and eLearning. This will include coaching with the Marketing and Communications team on using social media; Mapping Skills; Minute Taking; Digital Skills and Microsoft Office.
• On the job learning on Scheduled Monuments and SSSI.

Candidates will be assigned a buddy / mentor within PCNPA to help them navigate the world of work and will receive regular supervision.
