This will be a six month placement supporting Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
The post holder will undertake a role that sees them working across many different aspects of the work undertaken by the Authority, providing them with a breadth of exposure that includes Democratic Services, Human Resources, Customer Service, Finance or Countryside Management. The exact nature of the role will be determined by the candidate’s skills and the needs of the organisation at the time. It will include the following:

Management and distribution of incoming and outgoing post
• Answering incoming calls, taking messages and following through where required.
• Greet any visitors to the offices in a professional manner and provide refreshments
when appropriate.
• Typing of reports and letters with speed and accuracy.
• Data entry for the accounts payable invoices (in-house training provided)
• • Maintain the office filing/archiving system in both hard and electronic format.
• Raise invoices/statements and assist with credit control process.
• Assisting the Human Resources Team with Recruitment activity.
• • Proactively assist with the smooth running of the Democratic Services office.
• Diary co-ordination
• Assistance with marketing/communications, to include, events, campaigns, website, and social media accounts.
Grade C or above GCSE English and Maths
Strong written communication skills
Meticulous with a keen attention for detail
First class customer service skills or willing to positively deal with customer enquiries and complaints.
Basic IT and system skills.
25 hours worked between Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 and 5pm. Exact working pattern to be agreed with individual. Flexibility will be afforded to the right person.
National Minimum Wage
PCNPA will develop an individual bespoke employability programme that will sit alongside the placements. This will include:

• A Work Placement Contract setting out candidate skills and career targets and PCNPA expectations for successful completion – this will be support through regular coaching sessions to ensure attainment;
• A Skills and Personality Profile Inventory to build confidence and self awareness;
• A career planning workshop, including the various pathways into employment;
• Advice on improving confidence and interpersonal skills in the job market;
• Help on improving employability skills;
• C.V writing and interview skills workshops;
• Specific skills training using a blended approach of class room and eLearning. This will include training on the Development Management (Planning) system and Microsoft Office.
• Role specific training will be provided through line management coaching..

Candidates will be assigned a buddy / mentor within PCNPA to help them navigate the world of work and will receive regular supervision.
