This will be a six month placement supporting Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
Working directly to the Site Manager at Castell Henllys the post holder will be responsible for:

• Meets and greeting visitors and ensuring the visitor experience is first class, including checking visitors onto site and helping them understand the education activities and services offered. .
• Directing members of the public and helping with carpark management and visitor flow.
• Assisting Visitor Services and Education staff to help with the set up of activities and closure at the end of the day.
• Assisting Retail staff with stock inventory and shop keeping duties
• Assisting the Site Warden by ensuring site health and safety measures are carried out, including visual litter checks and cleaning is carried out.
• Undertaking small site maintenance jobs are carried out under full instruction and in accordance with Risk Assessments and health and safety guidance.

First class customer service skills or willing to positively deal with customer enquiries and complaints.
25 hours worked between Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 and 5pm. Exact working pattern to be agreed with individual. Flexibility will be afforded to the right person.

PCNPA will develop an individual bespoke employability programme that will sit alongside the placements. This will include:

• A Work Placement Contract setting out candidate skills and career targets and PCNPA expectations for successful completion – this will be support through regular coaching sessions to ensure attainment;
• A Skills and Personality Profile Inventory to build confidence and self awareness;
• A career planning workshop, including the various pathways into employment;
• Advice on improving confidence and interpersonal skills in the job market;
• Help on improving employability skills;
• C.V writing and interview skills workshops;
• Specific skills training using a blended approach of class room and eLearning. This will include training on the Development Management (Planning) system and Microsoft Office.
• Role specific training will be provided through line management coaching and will include Customer Service Skills, Basic Welsh Language, Carrying out Risk Assessments, Stock Control. Basic Health and Safety Training including Manual Handling will also be provided. .

Candidates will be assigned a buddy / mentor within PCNPA to help them navigate the world of work and will receive regular supervision.
